What a wonderful vintage shot! I especially love that the lace edged curtains are preserved in this photo, and I had forgotten about the hankie under the blouse cuff trend maintained by the ladies of the era . I would guess this special picture was taken during the 1920′s? Thank you for sharing!
Actually this photograph of my maternal grandmother was captured in 1916, just four years shy of the Roaring Twenties She was 16-years old—looks so much more mature!
She does look more mature than 16, but I think it’s because she has that serious look on her face that people used for photographs. I’d guess that as soon as the shot was over she broke into a big sixteen year old smile!
Wow! 16? What a difference to today’s 16 y.o.girls. I prefer your grandmother’s dress over some of the things I’ve seen on young girls of today.
Just love this photo!
I’m so enjoying your midweek classics as well as “my look” in your weekend wonders! You should think about duplicating the “my look” into “their look” for your midweek classics. That would be fun! Loving your blog!
What a great idea! I will certainly think about doing that. Thanks for stopping by and especially for your kind words—they’re much appreciated!
Likewise, I’m loving your blog, as well—it’s one of my favorites!
A true classic…..

Knowing my grandmother, I think you’re right!
Very classic!
Love how she is striking a pose with that right leg slightly out.
Cheers,

Thanks, Laura! She had a great sense of style—so glad I have this photograph!

I love this one, too! Such great style back then—16 and so sophisticated!
